Create live links to QuickBooks reports or report data, using a familiar QuickBooks like interface - all from within Excel. Never import, cut, or paste report data again!

This unique and innovative add-in is available via an Excel menu, gives you easy access to all available QuickBooks reports or report data, allows you to create live data links to multiple report data sources in one workbook, and presents filter and column options not available in QuickBooks.

QReportGrabber allows you to create a live data link between QuickBooks report data and an Excel spreadsheet – all from within Excel.
No more cutting and pasting every time you update your spreadsheet.
Update your QuickBooks data in Excel with one mouse click.
Place report columns in any cell or sheet you designate.
Uses the familiar QuickBooks look and feel to produce the reports you want, the way you want.

You can query and create live links for:
Complete reports
Report row data only (no subtotals or totals)
Report Subtotals only
Report Totals only

There is no other product besides QReportGrabber that allows you to create a live link between Excel and a particular portion of a report; previously this could only be done by exporting a report to QuickBooks, then cutting and pasting.

Accessing QuickBooks Data the Easy Way

Limitations of the QuickBooks export feature:
Exporting reports and linking them to QuickBooks has been improved in the 2004 edition but it is still necessary to manipulate your spreadsheet with cutting, pasting, deleting, sorting, etc. to get the desired results you want. QReportGrabber is a tool that allows you to create links to specific data sections from a report to Excel – in any format, filtering, or sorting scheme.

The difference between QTableGrabber and QReportGrabber:
QTableGrabber  inserts data from tables and fields that have been exposed through the Intuit qbXML SDK via an ODBC driver (QODBC from FLEXquarters). Although the tables are deemed “relational” via the ODBC driver, QuickBooks files are still “flat file”, and thus combining several tables to produce information can be slow when large amounts of data are involved.

We use the QuickBooks reporting engine to derive faster results for certain data queries. The report “Transactions By Account” would be a good example. Using QTableGrabber, would require you to relate a dozen tables to the Account List table. Using QReportGrabber, would allow you to query the same data using one of several reports options in QuickBooks – in a much shorter period of time.

Using Microsoft Query is possible but cumbersome:
It is possible to manually request report data through Microsoft Query, but it would require detail knowledge of the necessary query syntax. QReportGrabber hides the details from the end user; just pick and click.

With QReportGrabber Build Excel Spreadsheets as Easy as This:

Accountants, Bookkeepers, and Pro-Advisors who create analytical and informational spreadsheets for their clients.
QuickBooks Users who want to update spreadsheet data – either for their own use, or to give to their financial advisors – without extensive exporting, cutting, pasting and formatting.
QuickBooks Pro, Premiere, and Enterprise Users can benefit from the use of this Excel Add-In

Q: What is ODBC?
A: ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) is a specification designed by Microsoft to allow Windows applications to access multiple database systems through a single method with no regard for various file formats. SQL (Structured Query Language) is used as the method for accessing data through ODBC. Vendors of ODBC drivers (like this one) follow the specifications for ODBC so that any ODBC compliant application can access the data available through the driver.

Q: What is QODBC?
A: QODBC is an ODBC driver (DLL) for QuickBooks Accounting format files. QuickBooks Accounting stores it's data in it's own proprietary DBMS file format. This driver allows users of any ODBC compliant front-end application to read and write data contained in QuickBooks Accounting format files similarly to any other ODBC enabled database.

Q: What can I do with QODBC?
A: QODBC opens up the QuickBooks Accounting files created by thousands of custom programs to the new world of database connectivity. Microsoft Access or Visual Basic can be used to merge QuickBooks Accounting data with other data sources to produce complex reports, or to run mass file updates based on multiple criteria.

Q: What kind of learning curve is there for QODBC?
A: After quick installation of the driver, no training is required! This driver is transparent, requires no learning curve and works in exactly the same fashion of other ODBC drivers. Users of ODBC compliant front-end applications do not necessarily need to learn SQL language to access the QuickBooks database files. Many of these ODBC compliant applications simply present wizards enabling the user to create queries against the database.
