QTableGrabber is an Excel Add-In that gives you access to QuickBooks data tables with virtually no limitation on transaction accessibility other than certain payroll information that Intuit does not make available outside its QuickBooks product line.

You can import single or multiple data sets directly into an existing spreadsheet with no programming knowledge; you can grab information into an Excel spreadsheet to create an infinite number of immediate analysis scenarios; or you can query data into a spreadsheet that you just want to periodically refresh without cutting, pasting, or reformatting every time.

Key Features:
Place QuickBooks data in any cell, column, or sheet you want
Access to all transaction data except for certain Intuit protected payroll information
No programming knowledge necessary
Uses the only ODBC driver for QuickBooks: QODBC by FLEXquarters
Available as a menu item in Excel
Eliminate cutting and pasting every time you want to update your spreadsheet
Create multiple data requests in the same spreadsheet; i.e. January information on sheet 1, February information on sheet 2, etc.
Delete or add queries without affecting your existing spreadsheet structure.
Overcome the limits imposed by Microsoft Query
You can filter and sort your QuickBooks data query by any field
QuickBooks reports give you certain filtering and sorting options; QTableGrabber gives you many options not available in QuickBooks.

Microsoft Excel running QTableGrabber

Quick and Easy Steps:
Create a new spreadsheet (or use an existing one)
Query the QuickBooks data you want
Refresh data every time you open up the spreadsheet
No more cutting and pasting
No more re-formatting

Why QTableGrabber vs. Other Tools?
When Intuit opened up access to QuickBooks by providing the QuickBooks qbXML SDK interface (which is used by our tools), it sounded the death knell for the IIF format. Intuit will no longer promote or support third party applications on the Intuit Marketplace if they use the old IIF format. Intuit will eventually discontinue the IIF interface because it has no built-in security and could allow invalid data to be imported into QuickBooks.

This is how QTableGrabber works with Live Data Links!

QuickBooks already Exports Lists?
Exporting lists has been available in QuickBooks for years, but in order to filter or update the data, you must manipulate your spreadsheet with cutting, pasting, deleting, sorting, etc. to get the desired results you want. So if you wanted to get a subset of your list data, you could only do so AFTER you have opened up your IIF file in Excel and exported it.

QuickBooks does not have the ability to export transaction data from within QuickBooks. Knowledge of the qbXML SDK, or having your personal programmer would be necessary to extract this data from QuickBooks. QTableGrabber is the only tool available to extract both list and transaction data from QuickBooks without requiring the end user to be a programmer.

Microsoft has a built in Query Tool?
Microsoft allows you to import data directly into Excel, but there are limitations that QTableGrabber overcomes.

QTableGrabber allows query fields to be placed in your choice of sheets, columns, or cells; Microsoft Query only allows a starting cell, with no other placement options. It extracts data in several easy steps, while requiring no knowledge of SQL. Microsoft Query requires you to manually re-connect to the QODBC data source for each new query, and requires some knowledge of SQL statements when editing a query.

Q: What is ODBC?
A: ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) is a specification designed by Microsoft to allow Windows applications to access multiple database systems through a single method with no regard for various file formats. SQL (Structured Query Language) is used as the method for accessing data through ODBC. Vendors of ODBC drivers (like this one) follow the specifications for ODBC so that any ODBC compliant application can access the data available through the driver.

Q: What is QODBC?
A: QODBC is an ODBC driver (DLL) for QuickBooks Accounting format files. QuickBooks Accounting stores it's data in it's own proprietary DBMS file format. This driver allows users of any ODBC compliant front-end application to read and write data contained in QuickBooks Accounting format files similarly to any other ODBC enabled database.

Q: What can I do with QODBC?
A: QODBC opens up the QuickBooks Accounting files created by thousands of custom programs to the new world of database connectivity. Microsoft Access or Visual Basic can be used to merge QuickBooks Accounting data with other data sources to produce complex reports, or to run mass file updates based on multiple criteria.

Q: What kind of learning curve is there for QODBC?
A: After quick installation of the driver, no training is required! This driver is transparent, requires no learning curve and works in exactly the same fashion of other ODBC drivers. Users of ODBC compliant front-end applications do not necessarily need to learn SQL language to access the QuickBooks database files. Many of these ODBC compliant applications simply present wizards enabling the user to create queries against the database.
